Seriously, like your edits, especially that very well thought out debunking of Snape's being a jerk because he was maintaining his cover. He was an ass because he was a prick by nature, not as an elaborate con, IMO, and even Dumbledore only managed to get Snape to quit being a prick to a very limited degree.
