The Last Jedi is the sequel to The Force Awakens, written and directed by Rian Johnson, and is the eighth film in the main continuity of Star Wars.

• Tempting Fate: Immediately before his demise, Snoke is bragging to Rey about how loyal Ren is and that his apprentice will cut down his true enemy with an lightsaber sitting right on the armrest of his throne and is pointing right at him.
