Unsurprisingly, considering this is a Richard Curtis film, there are many of these.

  • A particular one is the scene after Carl is rejected by Marianne in favour of Dave and Harold and John silently approach him with tea and biscuits (which they then proceed to eat themselves). However, eating the biscuits themselves was a motivating measure, as Carl was too depressed to initiate the constitution-restoring powers of tea and biscuits himself. When he joins in, that was the Crowning Moment of Heartwarming.
  • The bit when Carl rescues Bob while "Father and Son" by Cat Stevens is playing is possibly the greatest use of a Cat Stevens song in a film ever. Also appropriate, considering Bob is Carl's father.
  • Also, the ending, when dozens of ships filled with fans turn up to rescue the DJs and crew.
  • The Count's speech from a deleted scene about what most would call the definitive band of the Sixties.
