• Broken Base: Its fans love it for its vivid and horrific mythology, its brutally fast-paced action scenes, and its "Anyone Can Die" reputation. Its detractors hate it for its over-the-top sexual horror and thinly drawn characters.
• Complete Monster: Roy, Maggie Kutch, and Gorman Hardy. Roy is a murderer and serial child rapist whose crimes are graphically detailed through the book. Maggie is the leader of the beast family, regularly sacrificing innocents to her "husband" and children and keeping the women as sex slaves. Gorman may be less overtly repulsive at first due to his only motivation being money, but by the time he's openly willing to murder Janet simply to make himself richer, he's very much over the line.
