Talk:Mandarin

Per the article, this is only about Mandarin Chinese and not Sinitic languages as a whole. Therefore it makes sense in my view to move this to Mandarin.

I've no problems with that.

Before I go ahead and do this unilaterally, I'm pinging the other mods as should have been done earlier in the thread.

Consistency is good. We don't call our page about Received Pronunciation "English Language", so we shouldn't call our page about Mandarin Chinese "Chinese Language". Especially when Mandarin Chinese isn't the only dialect of the Chinese languages.

Yeah, let's be consistent.

Okay, done, with subsequent edits to pages pointing at it. And then I thought about it and created a stub useful note under Chinese Language that someone with more knowledge of the subject could use to create a unifying page on all Chinese languages.
