Could this be expanded to cover things like invisible [sic] cloaks or a Spy Catsuit with a cloaking device which leaves its user nude/underwear clad? I recall seeing a few such items though not sure where. Seems related.
Conceptually yeah, there's a link, but that's more of a comedy trope, playing on an unexpected result from something whose purpose/classification implies a different result.
