As I post this, the image we have for Cab Calloway is a small picture from TV Tropes, of him strutting on stage. Informative and representative, yes, but we don't know the license it's used under.

This file on Commons is larger, it shows him with a conductor's baton (thus showing what he did for a living), and it's definitely Public Domain. However, it isn't quite as kinetic a pose as what we have now.

On the whole, I think it's worthwhile replacing the TVT image with the Commons image. Am I correct?

I found the source of the image -- it's a cropped version of a publicity still for the 1943 film Stormy Weather and while the image I've found is somewhat small, it clearly has a 20th Century Fox logo as part of the "caption" area at the bottom. As the watermark shows, the particular copy I've linked to is in the Getty Images Archive, but this was a photo spread about as part of promoting the film, which was made nearly 80 years ago, and ours has no such watermark; the image is in no way exclusively theirs. So if you don't want to call it public domain due to its age, credit 20th Century Fox and any other entities IMDB may show are behind the film and use it in fair use.

It has a logo, but it doesn't have a copyright notice. And it's from 1943. PD in USA because of age. Thanks for the help.

No need to replace the image.
