Article description: (description ) This attribute controls the content of the description and og:description elements. | A British television show about alleged "rowbutts", actually remote controlled vehicles, fighting each other with everything short of untethered projectiles and hardened steel blades. Other than flipping the other over, often neither rowbutt is pulling any punches. It's a lot better than it sounds - Craig Charles calls it "Rowbutt Wars", though apparently it's spelled "Robot Wars". The show lasted for seven seasons between 1997 and 2004, plus two editions of Robot Wars Extreme and several computer games. The first 6 (and the two extremes) aired on BBC2 while the last season aired on Channel Five. The latter channel's treatment of the show proved to be the death of it, but it lives on in repeats and live events organised by the roboteers. |
