  • In the 1984 version, Bligh is expected to sleep with one of the Tahitian king's wives, but doesn't want to. He tells Christian to wait five minutes and then fetch him on some ship's business, leading to this exchange:

Bligh: What demands my immediate attention?
Christian: Well it could wait until tomorrow, sir.
Bligh: What is it, damn you?
Christian: The ship is sinking, sir.
Bligh: Good.

  • In the 1962 film, Bligh orders Christian to stay away from the Tahiti chief's daughter, fearing it will wreck the breadfruit deal. However, the chief instead takes this as an insult to his daughter, forcing Bligh to order Christian to have sex with her.
