Lisa Wells has just been fired from her job at the library. She's come home to find someone has set her up with a Gmail account and a blog, with several posts already backdated by someone named "Antevorta." "Antevorta" has written telling her to check the black chest in her attic. She doesn't have a chest in her attic...except now she does. An old chest that contains the story of "Elizabeth Wells," an ancestor of Lisa's that lived in the Wild West. Lisa reads the story, until she comes to the end where Elizabeth encounters the Archangel.
And then things take a turn for the weird when a psycho named Grendel attacks Lisa and she is saved by a mysterious woman named I-330.
Mephi is a blog that is a combination of The Slender Man Mythos, The Fear Mythos, and The Cthulhu Mythos. It also contains numerous other references, mainly to Doctor Who and We.
- Action Girl: I-330, and Lisa is developing into one.
- Ancient Conspiracy: The Noctis Custodes.
- Badass Abnormal: I-330. She kicks ass...and travels through time. Without a time machine.
- Badass Normal: Lisa slowly becomes this, especially after she sprayed the Intrusion with a flame thrower.
- Buffy-Speak: Occasionally, I-330 will delve into this. See: "Eldritch shit and nonsense."
- Crossover: While this is already technically a crossover between the Fear Mythos, the Slender Man Mythos, and the Cthulhu Mythos, this post also establishes that the "Noctis Custodes" (from the Slenderblog It's all David's fault) also exists.
- Eyepatch of Power: I-330 has one.
- Genre Busting: Does this to the normal Slenderblog or Fearblog.
- Prophecy Twist: Everyone assumes that the "suited demon" referred to in a summoning ritual is the Slender Man. No one stops to point out that I-330 is always wearing a suit.
- Shout-Out:
- The name "Mephi" and I-330 both come from the dystopian novel We. Every character name is also a reference, including "Lupine Wonse."
- There's also characters named Roy Makhno and Lucy Parsons, for some historical references.
- One post by Grendel consists entirely of "it hurts it hurts it hurts it hurts it hurts it hurts it hurts it hurts it hurts."
- There are numerous references to the Cthulhu Mythos, including the characters traveling to Miskatonic University.
