Masks is a general continuation fic written by L. Mouse. It takes place after the movie Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, initially focusing on the attempts of Wheelie to become an Autobot against the understandable suspicions of the rest of the team, but it broadens focus to tell the story of the Autobots attempting to fit in and find a place on Earth. Features Loads and Loads of Characters - both Original Characters and classic G1 characters so far unused in the Movieverse.

Tropes used in Masks (fanfic) include:

• Asexual: the Transformers themselves, both physically and for reproduction. Doesn't stop them from falling in love and forming relationships, and they start picking up a social gender because of their interaction with humans. Explored within the story.
• Back From the Dead: Jazz
• Loads and Loads of Characters.
• Mind Rape: Called 'hacking' among the Transformers. Happens to Bluestreak and Sunstreaker and Prowl prior to the start of the story. Said to be what the humans were trying to do Bumblebee when he was captured in the first movie.
• Polyamoury: Sam/Bumblebee/Mikaela is the main romantic relationship. Most of the other romantic groupings are couples (or unrequited longings), but the long-ago quaterne of Skywarp/Skyfire/Starscream/Thundercracker is also mentioned.
• Retcon: Kup's death
• There Are No Therapists: Averted with the Autobots, where one of Optimus and his command staff's primary concerns is the mental stability of their soldiers; played straight with Megatron's Decepticons, where the crazy is actively encouraged.
