A very prolific children's and young-adult author, '''Jean Craighead George''' (July 2, 1919 – May 15, 2012) literally wrote [[One-Man Army|over a hundred books over the course of 60+ years]]. 

Her favourite subjects to write about were nature, wildlife and ecology, but she had quite a bit of [[Xenofiction]] under her belt as well. A couple of her books earned [[Newbery Medal|Newbery awards]] in the past, with at least [[Julie of the Wolves|one of them]] entering the education system as [[School Study Media|study media]].
