Fantasy (TV series)

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

Peter Marshall and Leslie Uggams were the presenters of this hour-long daytime show on NBC, one of the first produced by Merrill Heatter after the retirement of Bob Quigley. Members of the public wrote in to have their wishes fulfilled on television; the show was at its best when it focused on human-interest stories, such as reuniting families or helping those who could not afford to meet basic family needs.

Part Game Show and part musical revue, Fantasy ran from September 13, 1982 to October 28, 1983 and was replaced by Mark Goodson's The Match Game Hollywood Squares Hour...but Marshall was not invited to pick up again as "Master of the Squares", instead being replaced by the unproven Jon Bauman. Neither has done very much since then.
