Celes's Warband

  • Turncoat: A considerable chunk of Celes's forces are people that joined her after she defeated them. Celes personally healing the wounded, even to the point that she ends up hospitalized for exhaustion is a pretty good way to win people over.

Celes (of Mortality and Sickness)

She is a healer, and plans to cure the demon realms of its civil war.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:
  • Broken Bird: Why Celes is normally so stoic. In 11.1 she doesn't handle being the center of attention well, at least twice.
  • Combat Medic
  • Fertile Feet: When she leaks enough domain, plants sprout up around her, and then die.
  • Magic Knight: Found her spell book shortly before taking her graduation exam for becoming a knight.
  • Necromancer
  • The Stoic
  • Super Doc: Is a really good healer for physical ailments and for a while was the only healer in her war band.
  • Woobie:

You think you heard a rumor about a ghost haunting them, a long dead prisoner weeping in despair, but it was probably just a case of somebody hearing you as you hid there after a beating.

Despair

An ooze with the corpse of a woman inside it. Despair writes poems, plays, and music.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:

Miri, the Twice Cursed

  • Fusion Dance: The soul transplant didn't go as planned. Now she is a mix of the Miri and the person who's body she was put in. None of it is her body though, it's only the soul/mind that got mixed together. And as of this edit 12/20/20, the mix is not stable (which is bad).

Draschine Bloodmoon the Second

Founder of Celes's war band.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:

Kveld

Celes’s second in command. Celes often delegates things to Kveld

Tropes exhibited by this character include:
  • Straight Man: The QM has some wacky characters, and some relatively boring characters to ground things and act as the straight man. Some characters do a bit of both, but not Kveld.

Lia

Lia is one of the cooks captured by Celes when she repelled an army of invading humans. Celes, who grew fond of human food, decided to take 2 cooks, one of which is Lia, on campaign to prepare human food for her. Over time, Lia grew more fond of Celes, eventually going as far as to worship Celes as a goddess. After consuming small amounts of Celes’s blood, Lia became something of an apprentice to Celes.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:

Lady Slaughter

After being subdued by Celes, Slaughter was recruited by her. Slaughter views Celes as the successor to the Demon King of Undead and is infatuated with him. Slaughter quickly grew to love Celes.

Tropes exhibited by this character include:
  • Ax Crazy: Likes killing sapient life and is irritated by its presence (although she likes being around Celes). Undead are fine.
  • Necromancer
  • Speech Impediment: She has an adorable stutter.

Ignaros

Lady Lust's faction

Lady Lust

The demon of Lust and Form. She is a world class alchemist.

  • Hive Mind: She and her thirty spies share a telepathic link.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: Eri seems to be her real name. Eri is also the name of the persona she adopts when she pretends to be an intermediary for the demon of Lust and Form.
  • Necromancer: When Celes was inviting people to attend her classes, Lust was the first person on her list, so Lust should be an amateur necromancer. Also, Lust can make "flesh golems", which probably fall under the flesh crafting branch of alchemy.

Nineteen

Kallixna

A warlord that rules over many villages.

  • Does Not Like Magic: Technically Kallixna is stated to be very "anti-sorcerer", which does leave Kallixna's stance on Wizards (who use external magic instead of magic from within their bodies) unclear. One of her generals was practical enough to team up with Celes against one of Kallixna's rivals, despite Celes having sorcerers in her army and the fact Celes bothered to take a warband to the investigate ruins of what was once an academy for necromancers for lost knowledge.
