Data Design Interactive Ltd. was a British video game developer and publisher established in 1983. While they have been developing games for home microcomputers such as the ZX Spectrum and the Commodore 64, they later gained notoriety in the late 2000s to 2010s for releasing third-rate Shovelware games on the Wii. Such was the notoriety that the company, among other publishers of dubious repute such as Phoenix Games (which DDI has also collaborated with, funny enough), was often blamed for polluting the Wii's software library with low-quality budget titles of next to no merit and was meant to merely cash in on the Wii's success especially amongst families and casual gamers.

The company went out of business in 2012.

Data Design Interactive provides examples of the following tropes:
  • Cut and Paste Environments: Ninjabread Man is often cited as a prominent example of this trope, in light of highly-derivative works using the exact same engine and core mechanics such as Anubis II, Myth Makers: Trixie in Toyland and Rock 'n' Roll Adventures. While far from the only developer reskinning games, the way they retooled Ninjabread and passing them off as a new game was seen as notoriously bad and lazy.
  • Expy: Billy the Wizard: Rocket Broomstick Racing is quite obviously Harry Potter with Serial Numbers Filed Off. DDI even initially named the game Barry Hatter: The Sorcerer's Broomstick before they were forced to rename it due to possible legal action from Warner Bros. and J. K. Rowling.
  • Licensed Game: DDI has also developed games based on licensed properties such as Habitrail Hamster Ball, Kawasaki Jet Ski, LEGO Rock Raiders and Nickelodeon Party Blast among others. They also developed a karaoke game based on British child singer Connie Talbot's debut album Over The Rainbow for the Wii, which was later shelved due to music licensing difficulties.
  • Obvious Beta: In keeping with their tradition of mediocrity, the games from their "Popcorn Arcade" library were saddled with game-breaking bugs and general lack of polish.
  • Shoddy Knockoff Product:
    • Habitrail Hamster Ball is a low-rent clone of Sega's popular Super Monkey Ball series with hamsters standing in for Ai-Ai and his gang of fellow monkeys.
    • They even got to the point of making a low-rent knockoff of Nintendo's Mii feature with the NuYu avatar system.
