• Acclaimed Flop: This was a well reviewed, much enjoyed movie... which didn't do so hot at the box office.
• The Danza: Almost: Julianne Moore as "Julian".
• Dueling Movies: With V for Vendetta. Children of Men did garner better reviews and even a couple Oscar nominations.
• Shrug of God: It's been stated that the ending was deliberately designed to appear to be either a hopeful or Downer Ending, depending wholly on where you lie on the Sliding Scale of Idealism Versus Cynicism.
  • In-story its wholly unclear whether or not Kee and the child will survive, but as the credits start to roll we hear the sound of children playing and laughing, as opposed to the stark silence the film began with. It's pretty clear that this is a hint that hope will return to the world, and more children will be born.
