These things about Boycott the Caf are subjective - not everyone will agree with all of them.

  • Alternate Character Interpretation: Oh, so much:
    • Spinner is both a Memetic Badass and a Memetic Sex God. For example, it apprently took a classified government space laser to cut into his testicles to remove a cancerous testicle.
    • Jimmy is from the future, sent here to study our earth culture, based on his futuristic looking house in Season 1. He is still crippled because, while his paralysis is easily curable in the future, his superiors wish to punish him.
    • The only times people hang out with Liberty are if they feel sorry for her or if she just hangs around them and starts talking.
      • Oh, and Coach Armstrong really did have sex with Liberty, which they consider on par with bestiality.
    • Manny is apparently so slutty that she cannot go two hours without sex and has seen every penis in the school. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.
    • Craig isn't a successful musican: He's just making CD's on his computer while working at a gas station.
      • Taken Up To Eleven with the Facebook pages: He's apparently a slacker with a failure of a band and a group of freinds who are just as bad as he is.
    • The only time people are friends with Ellie are if they literally have no one else to turn to, and she is a "last resort". When given the chance, everyone will immediately try to get away from her.
    • Jay is always stealing something. Especially candy.
    • Anything Marco does is related to his being gay. Also, he's a marionette.
    • Darcy is Too Dumb to Live.
    • Snake is a spineless pussy. See Butt Monkey on the main page.
    • Paige is a whore.
    • Bruce the Moose is a dog whose brain got switched with a human's. Meanwhile the dog with his brain is wandering around Canada, having wacky misadventures while trying to find his body.
    • Johnny is just fucking with Alli most of the time.
    • Claire is a robot.
    • Fiona is a Bottle Fairy (this one's actually canon)
    • Both Riley and KC are prone to having fits of Unstoppable Rage. This one, like Fiona's, really does have a basis in canon, though in the reviews KC's rage often leads to him doing things like pounding a wooden table until it's shreds into wood chips when he's angry. Meanwhile Riley transforms into The Incredible Hulk.
    • Wesley is apparently a general of Nick Junior charicters, waging a bloody, genocidal war on all of Disney Junior , and refusing to give mercy when asked by the other side.
    • Jenna is Too Dumb to Live as a parent, leaving her baby alone on the lawn among other things.
    • Dave and Wesley began their lives by literally splitting off from Connor like amoebas, and thus Connor, Wesley, and Dave are known as "The Three Connors," and Connor himself is known as Connor Prime.
  • Badass Decay: Despite both of them worshiping Spinner, they get mad at him during season 4 when he gets a horrible haircut and falls from grace. He wins them back in season 5 though.
    • Sean in Season 6 to their disappointment
  • Crosses the Line Twice: Constantly.[context?]
  • A Day in the Limelight: Season 6 for Liberty.
  • Ensemble Darkhorse:The Duo have a collection of their own personal favorites:

  • Flanderization: In the episode reviews, this is often the source of the humor. Thus Peter becomes a Complete Monster, Alli becomes Too Incompetent to Operate a Blanket, etc.
  • Fridge Brilliance: An astonishingly valid comparison between the Degrassi principals and certain U.S. presidents [1]
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Once they started reviewing episodes as they came out:
    • Repeatedly saying that Marco would get AIDS... he didn't, but Paige almost did.
    • Detesting all of the new characters and not even referring to them by name for the longest time.
  • Ho Yay: It actually describes all the boys' penises as imagined by Billie and Johnny.
    • They also think that J.T. and Toby are gay lovers.
    • Same with the Websters.
  • Memetic Badass: Spinner is apparently invulnerable, can shatter a person with one punch, and anything he says is law. For example, it apparently took a Military Space Laser to remove his cancerous testicle.
    • Also the only reason for his rejection from police academy is that he would put the whole of the Canadian police force to shame.
    • Sean also gets this.
  • Memetic Molester: The front page even says "Hot middle school ass."
  • Memetic Mutation: Boycott the Caf! Also where Candy Bandits came from.
  • Memetic Sex God: Spinner, to the point where he's apparently been ejaculating since he was two and that when he got a boner in front of the class every woman there had an orgasm. Also Manny who's slutiness is taken to astonishing levels.
  • Portmanteau Couple Name: Parodied and ridiculed as gay.
    • Jay + Alex = Jaleco. Sean + Emma = Semen.
  • Rescued from the Scrappy Heap: Liberty in season 6. Sean, on the other hand...
  • Rooting for the Empire: Happens a lot, but especially the Candy Bandits. And Rick. And Dean. And Peter, until he breaks up Spinner/Darcy. And Craig's dad; God knows he deserves it.
  • The Scrappy: "Jesus Christ I hate her. Fuck you, Liberty." Craig gets a lot of hate as well.
    • Sav has taken up this postion because they needed someone to take their rage out on now that Liberty's gone.
  • Seasonal Rot: Season 6 gets this from them, but it gets worse with each passing season apparently.
    • Though "The Nerds" article states that Season 10 is apparently an improvement.
  • Serious Business: When reviewing a scene from season 1, they stop the plot and go in an in depth research with the fans as to whether or not Ashley is bribing JT with an American 20 dollar bill, or a Canadian 20 dollar bill, evidence seemed to point to it being an American dollar. Which only leads to the question of why she would bribe him with foreign money.
  • Unfortunate Implications: For all the jokes about Jimmy being black. And disabled.
    • Not to mention all of the gay jokes about Marco.
  • Viewer Gender Confusion: Is Billie a boy or a girl? On one hand he/she often makes masturbation jokes and what not but on the other hand Johnny offhandedly refers to him/her as "she" during one of his recaps (or maybe it was Shania Twain)...Now compound the fact that Billie sometimes spells his/her name as "Billy" and we reach a whole new level of ambiguity.
    • The whole deal with Billie has become very confused indeed. In one recap Johnny seems to out her as a girl, but in another she implies that she's a gay man (or maybe she just meant gay people in general and is thus a lesbian). All we know about Billie is that s/he likes his/her own sex. Now we just need to figure out which sex that is. Gah!
      • The review for "When Love Takes Over' finally solved the mystery: Billie is a transwoman.
    • The "Samantha Earle" fake magazine cover.
