Not to be confused with Beware the Superman. A new CGI animated Batman cartoon in which the Caped Crusader teams up with swordtress Katana and his gun-toting ex-secret agent butler Alfred Pennyworth to face the criminal underworld led by the twisted Anarky, Professor Pyg, Mister Toad, King Kraken, and Magpie.
The show premiered in 2013 on Cartoon Network as a part of their DC Nation block. It was abruptly taken off the air for unknown reasons after airing 11 out of 26 episodes; it returned seven months later in a 2:30 AM time slot, to air its whole run including the remaining unaired episodes.
Tropes used in Beware the Batman include:
- Action Girl: Katana seems to be this.
- Ascended Extra: The show seems to be focusing on lesser known Batman foes, like Magpie and Professor Pyg.
- Darker and Edgier: The show has been said to be darker than Batman the Brave And The Bold, which was much Lighter and Softer than a lot of recent Batman stories.
- Guns Akimbo: Alfred does this in a promo pic.
- Hot Chick with a Sword: Katana.
- Pig Man: Professor Pyg, although he probably is just wearing a pig mask.
