Wild Kratts/YMMV

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

These things about Wild Kratts are subjective - not everyone will agree with all of them.

  • Ear Worm: The theme song's catchiness borders on NINETIES territory!
  • Fan Dumb: All of the Wild Kratts' Fan Dumb are Mad Matchmakers, but two dumb fans stood out in particular: over at Fanfiction, there was one Monomanical Toxic Genius Purist who was (or might still be) Willfully Blind with enough sock puppets to run an Astroturf campaign. This same fan was only one person on Youtube, before pissing off another fan. Before the sock puppeting was noticed, another fan accused the same sock puppeter of Insane Avataring. Over at Wikipedia, there was one extremely ambitious editor who edited approximately 35 times within about 9 months before being reported and blocked. All of the Fan Dumb are Misplaced Champions; if you don't agree with MartinxAviva as it's always written, then you aren't a True Fan, regardless of if you've been with the Kratt Brothers for the 15+ years they've been in show business. The Shipping Goggles are so thick to the point that these fans don't realize that Aviva has hugged every other Wild Kratt EXCEPT Martin, and including Chris- the only times she's "hugged" Martin in any sense of the word was in "Octopus Wildkratticus" when the Eldritch Abomination scared them half to death, and in hugging Chris and Martin at the same time. There's also the point that were pics on DeviantArt where Chris, who really has nothing to do with the pairing (aside from being Martin's brother), Had a Bridge Dropped On Him. She also seems to be the Launcher of a Thousand Ships since talk of Chris and Aviva and even musings of past Zach/Aviva have been stated. There was originally a third, but that one saw that the outrageous behavior was getting them nowhere and decided to disagree peacefully.
  • Foe Yay: There has been fan speculation of Zach and Aviva having been in a relationship at one point, and let's just say that she remembers things about him that no one else would remember about someone they purport to dislike. Also, in "Aardvark Town", she knew the code to disable the skullcaps without being told- either Zach is that much of a moron/creature of habit that he'd use the same code knowing his opponents knew it as well and could disable his systems before he knew anything, or else she knows him a lot better than she's putting on.
  • Freudian Trio: There are two- Chris/Martin/Aviva, and Aviva/Koki/Jimmy. In each trio, the roles shift from episode to episode.
  • Fridge Horror: In "Flight of the Draco", Donita Donata uses a "Pose Beam" device to freeze Martin in place and manipulate him to walk a runway as her unwilling model. That in itself is pretty creepy when you think about it, but it gets worse. The scene cuts away for a minute after Martin is first caught in the beam, and then it reveals him in the outfit Donita plans to make him model. In other words, he was stripped while paralyzed. The fact that Donita seems a little too into him definitely doesn't help...
  • Nightmare Fuel: The Zach-Bots, especially when they take the form of a human.
    • Also, many of the cruel things Zach does to the animals he captures, such as brainwashing walruses so they are forced to stay underwater until they drown just so they can find a pearl he stole.
    • Gourmand's teeth gnashing in Stuck on Sharks. What made it even more creepy was he was talking to himself while he was doing it. Let's not forget Seven from Octopus Wildkratticus, post suit-tangling...
  • Periphery Demographic: The show has a small but thriving community of older fans who remember the Kratt Brothers' earlier shows fondly.
  • Squick: The Kratts are a little too fascinated with worm slime in "Mystery of the Squirmy Wormy".
  • Tear Jerker: Maxilla's death in "Voyage of the Butterflier".
  • Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny: The bull sperm whale vs. colossal squid battle, something never actually seen because of the deep depths the battles take place at.
