A defunct Animal Crossing Fan Webcomic about a person calling himself Peofin and his friends, exploring their strange relationships in strange ways. At one time it could be found here, but it appears to have been taken down. And while the Wayback Machine has an archive of the page, it does not appear to have saved any of the strips.
Tropes used in We Built This City include:
- Aborted Arc: The Meet the Spy arc, ended because the author just couldn't think of any more ideas.
- All There in the Manual: Most of the information about the characters is scattered across Peofin's Deviant ART journal entries.
- Alternate Character Interpretation: In-Universe, alternate to the source material. Lobo's a tyrant, Coco's an Ax Crazy Clingy Jealous Girl, and Scout's just plain off his rocker.
- Author Avatar: Peofin.
- Barefoot Cartoon Animals: All of the nonhuman characters.
- But You Screw One Skunk: The comic was initially written as a Take That to internet trolls torturing the author over his... bizzare love interest. Also subverted, as Peofin and Blaire can't "do it" until they're married due to religious beliefs.
- Carnivore Confusion: A wolf hugs a duck and brushes a skunk's fur. Not exactly the behavior you'd expect from a feared tyrant.
- Fantastic Racism: A recent comic reveals that Lobo's extremely clingy to everyone... except when humans are around.
- Funny Animal: Almost the entire cast.
- Furries Are Easier to Draw: The author hates drawing Peofin for this reason, along with his low self-esteem. This is also the reason why Scout has only appeared in two comics so far.
- Everything Is Online: The universe itself can be warped and twisted with an Action Replay.
- Green Rocks: An Action Replay, since the universe is in a video game.
- Interspecies Romance: A wolf and a dalmatian. A penguin and a duck. A HUMAN AND A SKUNK.
- Lethal Chef: While trying to make his own birthday cake, Peofin set his entire house up in an atomic explosion.
- Never Say "Die": Whenever a character is killed for any reason, he or she is turned into a trophy which can be revived at any time.
- Perverse Sexual Lust: Partially why the comic was made.
- Self-Insert Fic: Justified because, well, it's Animal Crossing.
- Stylistic Suck: Due to the author's self-proclaimed impatience.
- What Could Have Been: The teaser picture in the author's Deviant ART gallery shows silhouettes of all of the characters, including Petunia, who would have been revealed at the end of the Aborted Arc.
