  • Ho Yay: At one point in the movie, it seems like Lieutenent Haeften has a bit of a crush on Stauffenberg.
  • Moral Event Horizon: General Fromm arguably crosses it when he orders Stauffenberg's execution only to cover up his own involvement in the plot to kill Hitler. Though, to be fair, Stauffenberg would have been tortured to death if Fromm had handed him over to the Gestapo.
  • Tear Jerker:
    • The execution scenes, accompanied by a really powerful melody.
    • "I'm thinking of earlier times".
