The Slayer Chronicles is a Spin-Off of The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod. The Slayer Chronicles run parallel to the events in the Vladimir Tod books. This series revolves around Joss McMillan, a vampire slayer introduced in 9th Grade Slays.

Tropes used in The Slayer Chronicles include:
- Aerith and Bob: The book has Abraham, Morgan, Joss...and Cratian, Malek, Sirus, and Zy.
- Abusive Parents: When Joss's sister Cecile dies, his parents ignore him completely. Abraham whips hip when he falls asleep during purification.
- A Taste of the Lash: When Malek failed his purification, he had this done to him. Joss does too.
- Best Served Cold: Joss swears to join the Slayer Society after a vampire kills his sister Cecile. When Malek dies during his botched purification He becomes even more obsessed with killing the vampires in the area.
- Dead Little Sister: Cecile is this for Joss.
- The Unfavorite: Joss is completely ignored by his parents after his sister's death, and it's implied that they did not pay a lot of attention to him before her death either.
