The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Disney film)/Trivia
- Author Existence Failure: Poor, poor Mary Wickes, Laverne's voice actress. This was her final film role as she died of cancer during production and had to be replaced by a stand-in, although thankfully only for a few lines. Fortunately, that stand-in is sound-alike Jane Withers, who took over the role in much-maligned DTV sequel.
- Hey, It's That Voice!: David Ogden Stiers (aka Cogsworth) as the Archdeacon.
- Tony Jay (aka Monsieur D'Arque the corrupt asylum official, aka the Super Mutant Lieutenant from Fallout, aka Megabyte) as Minister Frollo.
- So, Judge Frollo is played by the same guy who does the voice of... DR. LIPSCHITZ?!?!? *cue dramatic sting*
- And the Elder God, a religious extremist in his own right.
- Patrick Star is one of the guards!
- Spanish!Frollo is freaking Darth Vader/ClintEastwood/the T-800/Mufasa.
- In France, he's Mufasa's brother, Scar.
- Speaking of France, let's go over that cast just because the film is set in Paris. Phoebus is |James Bond, while Clopin is Owl.
- Jason Alexander as Hugo.
- Kevin Kline (aka Cole Porter in De-Lovely, Dreyfus in The Pink Panther, and Otto in A Fish Called Wanda) is Phoebus.
- Demi Moore (Ghost, A Few Good Men) as Esmeralda.
- Quasimodo is Mozart!
- Jim is Victor.
- It's really weird hearing Governor Ratcliffe as a good guy.
- Reversed in Sweden, in the dub the same guy voices Ratcliffe and Frollo.
- Tony Jay (aka Monsieur D'Arque the corrupt asylum official, aka the Super Mutant Lieutenant from Fallout, aka Megabyte) as Minister Frollo.
- Mean Character, Nice Actor: In an interview for Disney Adventures that was published right around the time that the movie was released, Tony Jay made it a point to say that he was actually a very nice man in Real Life, despite continually playing villainous roles (and with Frollo being one of his darker ones).
- What Could Have Been: Phoebus's speech rallying citizens to rebel against Frollo during the climax of the movie was originally said by Clopin, but the directors/producers felt that Phoebus needed to be more involved in the uprising.
