At the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, when Swift went up on stage to accept her Moonman for Best Female Video, she was rudely interrupted by Kanye West, who infamously declared that "Beyonce had the best video of all time!" So when Beyoncé herself wins the award for Video of the Year, what does she do? Rather than deliver the acceptance speech that she had prepared, she invited Taylor back on stage to finish hers.
Swift's song "Enchanted" is a sweet song about meeting Adam Young and being, well, enchanted. The Valentine's Day after it was released, Adam posted his own version of the song on his blog, directed to her. The heartwarming is pretty well summed up by his tweet about it: "Dear Taylor, everything about you is beautiful. I want you to know I was enchanted to meet you too." The music makes it even more magical and meaningful.
The Meaningful Echo in "Mine". In the story of the song, the young woman remembers "how we sat there by the water/you put your arm around me for the first time/ you made a rebel of a careless man's careful daughter/ you are the best thing that has ever been mine." At the song's conclusion, the woman fights with her husband, and feeling he is going to abandon her, runs off in despair. But he finds her and repeats the same words {i.e. the refrain} she has been singing in the whole song back to her with loving reassurance that he will never leave her.
"Our Song" and "The Best Day" are both long, beautiful ones.
In 2010, some guys at Auburn launched a website called "A Hug From Taylor Swift", which aimed to get exactly that. Taylor found the website, and proceeded to put them through threerounds of challenges if they really wanted one. Theyacedthem. After they completed the final challenge- get people to an auditorium and lead them in karaoke- she popped up and gave them their hugs. And kisses. And concert tickets. And put on a bonus concert to boot.
Recently, a girl launched a Facebook campaign to get Swift to go to prom with her older brother, who is battling leukemia. Unfortunately, she had to decline... but to make it up to him, she invited him to be her date to the Academy of Country Music Awards.
