This has a decent title, a good description, and over a dozen examples. Can we send it out into the Wide World of Tropes?

I see no reason not to.
Likewise, if you feel it's seaworthy then shove 'er off!
Launched!
Turns out we have this already. Embarrassing.
I'll get to sorting examples out this weekend before turning this into a redirect for the latter similarly-titled one, unless you all think this is the better version between those two specifically - in that case, I'll have to figure out something else...

This one has a longer description - maybe there's something you added here that isn't there yet?
Merging the two is a good idea, yes.
We need more due diligence done before new tropes get out of the Workshop. We have something like 30000 tropes documented -- tropers and mods alike need to make a better effort at preventing duplicates. I say this as someone who's done it at least twice so far myself.
Yeah, I'm not exactly happy about this myself.
My only real question currently (because no doubt I agree with you) is how to handle this current case.
Here's what I would do:
Merge the two, including the descriptions.
Pick one to be the one we keep.
We don't need exact words copied over; we do want to keep the information. So if there's something that's said on one page but not the other, copy it over as-is, and if there's something that's said on both pages, pick the one you like best and keep it, maybe adding a few words from the duplicate.
Once everything is on one page, turn the other page into a redirect.
That's a better response than "Kill us both, Spock!" <grin>
... we still need to reconcile these two, don't we?
That we do. I have no end of time today, so anything that isn't sunk into what usually sidetracks me from my typical juggling act will be dedicated to this.
Cool. And thank you.
Alright, so my decision is that I'll keep this one and make the other the redirect, once I've sorted its examples between this page and Decapitation Required. (I'll then have to sort examples between this and Off with His Head, but that should be considerably more straightforward.)
