It says that the examples need sorting, which I agree with, but then I entered edit mode and wasn't able to move a single example. Not sure what's wrong.

The page is not locked. I can't tell you why you couldn't move anything, but if your description is literal (you couldn't cut/paste), the problem is probably local to you and not a wiki issue. If the page were protected, you wouldn't be able to enter the editor at all. And I just did a quick sort of the non-video game examples as a test on my side, and had no problems.
Edit: I have noticed over the years that some of the optional gadgets in the editor have odd effects in some browsers -- the autosuggest for links, for example, disables most navigation keys other than left and right arrow in SeaMonkey's Firefox-based browser. You may be running into something like that; best way to check is to try another browser on the same page.
