  • Contested Sequel: While the first game is beloved, people have mixed reactions to this game.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • Spider-Man said he doesn't need pointy ears and a cape after defeating Shocker. Rino Romano, who voiced Spidey in this game would voice Batman in The Batman.
    • This and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 are Spider-Man properties with the same number and same villain.
  • Memetic Mutation: "Tonight, Electro dances with the gods!"
  • That One Boss: Every boss in the game can be hard to defeat, especially the Lizard.
