Save Point/Playing With
Basic Trope: A special area to help you save data in a video game.
- Straight: Alice, Bob, Carol, Dave, and Edgar find a save point in the middle of a dungeon.
- Exaggerated: There's an entire dungeon made entirely of save points.
- Justified: Alice states to Bob that Savatora, the Goddess of the World, created the Save Points. See Justified Save Point.
- Inverted: You can find a point in the game that deletes your save data.
- Subverted: The Save Point is really a monster...
- Double Subverted: ...But once the monster is defeated, it turns out it really was a Save Point conquered by Dr. Sharkus.
- Parodied: ??
- Zig Zagged: ???
- Averted: The player can save any time he wants -- even in the middle of a battle.
- Conversely, there are none and you can't.
- Enforced: "Hey, this is a throwback to the RPGs of the 1990s for the Super Nintendo, so I want a good amount of Save Points in the game."
- Lampshaded: "Are we going to fight one of Darksaur's hench-monsters soon?"
- Invoked: "Are there any Save Points in that mine?"
- Exploited: The party use Save Points in the final dungeon without the Player's OK.
- The characters notice that a Boss Battle will occur soon due to a suspiciously-placed save point.
- Defied: There are no Save Points in the entire game.
- Discussed: "Do you know about Save Points?" "Sure, I use them a lot -- Save Points are used to save your game -- and can often be found in a monster-filled area before the boss monster of that area."
- Conversed: "Too bad we don't have Save Points in real life." "You're preaching to the choir, dude."
