• Crowning Music of Awesome -- Composed by the same guy who did the music for Final Fantasy Tactics!
• Die for Our Ship -- Poor Hermione. She did get better, Romeo/Juliet fanbrats!
• Ho Yay -- Francisco certainly loves teasing Curio. There's also a bit of it between Benvolio and Romeo, and arguably some more with Romeo and Petruccio. With the ladies, Emilia admits attraction to girl!"Odin".
  • Episode 17, saw Francisco and Curio sharing a candlelit dinner rife with homoerotic Subtext. Also, who can forget this little gem, said someplace between episodes 7 and 9:

Francisco: (to Curio) Unfortunately for you, I'm not interested in men.

• • Also worth noting the Les Yay of the more...um, Squicky variety between Ophelia and Juliet in one of the last episodes. It's even lampshaded in the commentary track of the English dub:

[Commentary Track] "Brina Palencia, [voice of Juliet] Just had a very special moment with Jamie Marchi [voice of Ophelia].

• • Juliet and Hermione too, complete with a snuggling bedroom scene.
• It Was His Sled -- Romeo and Juliet die. If you weren't expecting that then you've never taken a high school English class.
• The Load -- Poor Benvolio. Though at least he's not a Damsel Scrappy.
• Superlative Dubbing: Yep, there's some inevitable Ye Olde Butcherede Englishe, but it's worth enduring it to hear many of Shakespeare's original lines (from more than just Romeo and Juliet) paired with beautifully animated scenes and wonderfully delivered by some very talented voice actors.
• Tear Jerker -- The ending, of course. The duel in the penultimate episode. Also almost any scene of Romeo and Juliet happy together, because of the inevitable ending.
  • This troper, who had already studied the play in high school and is a normally unaffected by Tear Jerker moments, had to fight back tears at the ending because the last few episodes had been hinting at the fact that Romeo and Juliet may be able to Screw Destiny and end up living Happily Ever After. It didn't happen.
• Toy Ship: Antonio and Regan. Way too cute.
