A 1999 [[H Game]] by Alicesoft, the creators of [[Atlach=Nacha]], '''''Mamatoto ~a record of war~''''' is a story about [[A Boy and His X|a boy]] and his [[Genius Loci|living giant castle fortress mom]].

Hundreds of years ago in the world of the series, a strategist came up with a solution for the prolonged siege of castles: giving a castle the ability to move by itself, resolving the lack of ability to move towards supply lines. However, the technique quickly became widespread and in a very short period of time all warfare was fought by moving castles. The very country this strategist came from ceased to exist even.

In the present, the world is stuck in all-out war between several nations fighting for control without not one predominating power. The weakest and smallest of those countries is Mamatoto. General Nanas, son of King Kakaro of Mamatoto, however, came up with a solution for their lack of manpower: the Kids, artificial soldiers made of cards extracted from monsters, creatures inhabiting a world different from Earth. With this innovative strategy, Nanas dreams of finally bringing peace to the world by unifying it under the flag of Mamatoto.

Sadly for Nanas, he doesn't realize father isn't the kind old man he thinks he is. King Kakaro only cares about pleasuring himself and obtaining more power. However, he doesn't seem intent on backstabbing his son, and do all of his awful deeds behind the scenes, with Nanas none the wiser about his father's depravity.

The gameplay of Mamatoto is a mix of [[Tower Defense]], [[Strategy RPG]], and [[Simulation Game]]: you must defend your enemies of advancing to attempt to destroy Mamatoto's central core during battles by destroying all of them, moving soldiers through the map to acquire items and attack those enemies and, outside the battle, manage the resources of the country to prepare your warriors for the next attack. Mamatoto also has a self-defense system that consumes a few health points by enemy invasion, so game over will not be immediate if one enemy escapes your troops, but repairing it is costly and therefore is preferrable to not let any enemies go for the core. It also has a dual romance/sex slave system with Nanas and Kakaro, respectively, and advancing towards certain points of Kakaro's slave training with certain girls locks those girls out of being romanced by Nanas.

* [[Badass Grandpa]]: Wang Dalao is in his seventies but is quick and powerful as any youngster, something he loves to remind people about it.
* [[Big Good]]: Kakaro is technically this as the benefactor of our heroes, but behind the doors he is a rapist.
* [[Braids of Action]]: Cocona wears braids and is a very capable warrior.
* [[Curb Stomp Battle]]: The battle between Barbazza and Ete's troops seems to be this, since Barbazza manifests zero worry of losing. To be fair, the moment the battle starts, Ete's bird minions are aligned in a way that they are basically begging to targeted by Barbazza's special move.
* [[Defeat Means Friendship]]: Nanas' modus operandi is defeating a country and asking the enemy forces to join him.
* [[Defiant to the End]]: {{Spoiler|Even as he breathes his last breath, Kakaro still insults Nanas and makes no attempt at reconciliation}}.

* [[Grey and Grey Morality]]: Most of Mamatoto's enemies are fighting for survival or out of duty with no malicious intent.

* [[Humble Hero]]: Nanas is the kind of prince who would kneel to ask for the friendship of a previous enemy who he had just defeated in battle.
* [[I Did What I Had to Do]]: How Barbazza explains murdering a bunch of men, women and children once upon a time: they were infected by an incurable disease and were entering his ship. He says he did to save himself, but Wang and Nanas also believed he did for his men,
* [[Innocent Fanservice Girl]]: Murat doesn't care about exposing skin to Nanas, since her mother raised him since little, and sees him like a little brother.
* [[Kid Hero]]: Maitrea is eleven and a capable mage able to use his spells in combat.
* [[The Main Characters Do Everything]]: Inverted and enforced. Nanas is a strategist with no combat abilities whatsoever, so the supporting characters do everything up to defeating the final boss while our protagonist sits on the sidelines. {{Spoiler|And killing Kakaro, that is whoever has most relationship points with Nanas}}.
* [[Meido]]: Nozomi is cute and shy and delicate, fitting the trope very well. Sadly, she is Kakaro's personal maid, that means she is also his sex slave.
* [[Meganekko]]: Nozomi is cute, nervous, and also wears glasses.
* [[Non-Action Guy]]: Nanas has no combat abilities whatsoever. You control him for brief periods and it's clear he can't fight. {{Spoiler|It turns out he can't control Kids either, something he only discovers after already getting into a battlefield to destroy the keys protecting Gaston. If it wasn't for Dikacis' sudden return, he would be dead meat.}}.
* [[Panty Shot]]: The first of Nana's support conversations with Murat involves her accidently exposing his panties to him.
* [[Parental Incest]]: Kakaro can prey on, of all people, his own daughter.
* [[Smart People Wear Glasses]]: 
** Tomoko, one of the two girls responsible for the construction of Kids' plants, wear glasses.
** Muscat is responsible for creating new, more powerful weapons for your troops and seems to have created Kyouhou to design them, and wear glasses.
