Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull/Awesome

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • "Damn, I thought that was closer."
  • Surviving a nuclear explosion by climbing into a refrigerator. Despite being a Never Live It Down moment for the series, it's just another example of the Indy Ploy working when it logically shouldn't.
  • The fencing duel atop two speeding jeeps. Wow.
    • Props to Mutt for doing this while having his crotch repeatedly being hit against plants.
    • Props to the actors for doing this in real life. Yes, they actually drove jeeps through a jungle and had a swordfight on them.
  • Oxley uses the Crystal Skull to divert a sea of army ants away from Indiana and his party.
  • Indy blows the native's poison dart back at him from the other end of the blowgun.

Mutt: You're a... teacher?
Indy: Part time.

  • "I like Ike."
    • Which was also painted on the side of the nuclear bomb.
  • The car chase through the university, including Indy taking time from running for his life to answer a student's question.
  • Indy is just a Crowning Dude of Awesome.
  • The theme music... pop in the DVD and all good memories come back.
  • In Raiders of the Lost Ark, the Ark of the Covenant is a dangerous magical artifact which, in the wrong hands, can be a deadly WMD, so at the end of the movie, the government packs it in an crate labeled with only code numbers, and places it in a huge military warehouse along with - presumably - other things that must be kept hidden at all costs. This setup is secure via simplicity, as even if a terrorist or madman were to break into this place, it would take years of uninterrupted searching to find it, and he’d only have a few hours before he was discovered. In this movie, however, the story starts with Soviet agents bringing Indy to this same warehouse at gunpoint, forcing him to find another artifact stored there. Using ingenuity and some gunpowder and shotgun shells, Indy manages to make a path to the right crate within moments. Oh, and for added awesome, the Ark itself makes a cameo too.
  • Let's face it. Even though everyone has skewed opinions on this film, you can't deny that Indiana's a complete badass.
