While the trope name suggests cartoonish super-villainy this can equally apply to more serious stories, where this trope could be named If You're So Evil Shoot This Cop. Basically, any test to demonstrate the willingness of a person to do immoral deeds, either to demonstrate the individual isn't the hero in disguise, or to just prove that the character isn't going to be afraid of dirty work. |
