The main villain of the Halloween film series, he killed his sister when he was young and was sent to a psychical hospital for the reminder of his natural born life. Years later, he escapes, looking to finish off his sister. Also known as The Shape in the scripts, as he is only a shape in the darkness.

- The Adjectival Man: Referred to as the "Boogeyman" by the characters until they learn his name. Jamie also calls him "the Nightmare Man" in 4.

- Axe Before Entering: Either this or he just crashes his way through doors.

- Back from the Dead: Not as bad as Jason or Freddy though.
- Bandaged Face: At the beginning of 4.

- Convenient Coma: Between II and 4, and 4 and 5.
- Covered with Scars: Following being lit on fire in the second movie, Michael was shown with burn scars on his hands. Though we didn't see it on-screen for ourselves, the implication is that this was the case for his entire body.
- Creepy Child
- Dangerously Genre Savvy: More genre savvy than the average movie killer.
- Determinator: Holy hell... powers or not, Michael shrugs off gunshots, stab wounds, and explosions and yet keeps on going.
- Enfant Terrible: We get to spend half an hour with his younger self in the 2007 film.
- The Faceless: Originally, his adult face was seen once in the original film at the end of it. However, as pointed out by James Rolfe as part 2011's Monster Madness, in Halloween 5 you could see it when Jamie asks to see his face, despite the use of shadows. Also, Michael's face is shown numerous times in both the remake and its sequel.
- Four Eyes, Zero Soul: Combined with being dressed as a Bedsheet Ghost, he is this while posing as Bob, who wears glasses and Michael takes them after he killed him.
- Generic Doomsday Villain: Done well. He has no dialogue, no personality, and no motivation. He's just pure evil, and absolutely terrifying.
- Genius Bruiser: Killing is all he does, and he does it well.
- Healing Factor: He was shot in the eyes once, but got over it by his next movie. Just one of many examples.

- Instant Expert: How he learned to drive, either by watching people or having having Dr. Wynn teach him, if you go by 6's logic.

- Light Is Not Good: His iconic white mask is eerie and disturbing, and when it's ripped off at the end of the first movie, he looks like any other normal person - certainly not like the monster he had been behaving as.

- Menacing Stroll: Seeing him move at a speed higher than a power walk would be quite the spectacle.

Doctor Samuel Loomis
Michael's psychiatrist, Dr. Loomis is forced multiple times to track Michael down in an attempt to stop him from killing people. And he's pretty Badass at doing it.
Played by: Donald Pleasence (I-II and 4-6), Tom Kane (H20) and Malcolm McDowell (The remake and its sequel)
- Badass: You wouldn't know it from looking at him, but Loomis is pretty damn awesome.

- Badass Grandpa: As he got older, he didn't get any weaker. He wailed on Michael with a two-by-four... while in the middle of having a stroke!

- Cassandra Truth: His entire career in regards to Michael is this. No one ever listens to his warnings about the danger Michael poses to society until it's too late.
- Though this is actually not as bad as in most cases. In both the first two movies and the fourth movie, the cops at least heed his warnings and take some action. Unfortunately, it isn't enough.

- Genre Savvy: He usually anticipates Michael's actions.
- Heroic Sacrifice: Tries to pull this off in Halloween 2 to kill himself and Michael, but fails and survives.
- Ignored Expert
- Jerkass: Both in the original series and especially in the remakes series though in the latter's case, he took Took a Level in Jerkass following his near death brush with Michael.
- Killed Off for Real: Died before H20 since Donald Pleasence passed away.
- Papa Wolf: Though he never has children of his own he was willing to protect 17 year old Laurie at the cost of his own life and young Jamie afterwards.
- Properly Paranoid: Others viewed a young Michael as a disturbed boy. Loomis viewed him as a monster just waiting to strike. Guess who was right.
- Supporting Leader: He spends most of the original hunting Michael down and gets top billing, but he isn't the lead character.
- Take Me Instead!: In the fourth movie, after encountering Michael at the diner, Loomis is perfectly willing to try this. Unsurprisingly, Michael doesn't take this offer.

- What the Hell, Hero?: Loomis seems to get this at least once a movie - usually because of what Michael has done. Not fair in those cases, though, cause Loomis did everything possible to keep Michael locked up.
Laurie Strode

Laurie Strode is the Final Girl and main heroine of the series. Originally just a target that he tries to kill, it is later learnt that she is actually Michael's younger sister and Laurie actively tries to stop him.
Played by: Jamie Lee Curtis (original series) and Scout Taylor-Compton (Zombieverse)
- Action Girl: In H20.
- Action Survivor
- Audience Surrogate: In the original.
- Badass Damsel: Probably the most relatable part of her character is that she can stand up against pure evil despite being scared to tears.
- Badass Normal: She might be a normal teenage girl, but Laurie fights back against Michael with anything at her disposal, including sewing needles, a clothing hanger, and a revolver.
- Big Sister Instinct: Despite being terrified, she vehemently protects Tommy and Lindsey from Michael in the first movie.
- Broken Bird: Happens to her after encountering Myers, especially and considering Zombie's versions.
- Expository Hairstyle Change: In H20, it's a short '90s cut to reflect her new Action Girl status. In Resurrection, it's long and messy after she's been living in an insane asylum.
- Final Girl: Who Took a Level in Badass in Halloween H20.
- Go Mad from the Revelation: Two cases of this
- In Resurrection, it is stated that Laurie went mad when she killed the person she thought was Michael Myers, and was locked up in asylum because of it. Turns out this was a plan of hers to get Michael once and for all.
- H2 shows that Laurie was already slipping through the cracks and ends up pretty much a screaming wreck after learning she was Michael Myers' sister, after years of not being told.
- Mama Bear: Though she has no qualms against attacking Myers in the first movie, she really makes him suffer in H20 after he attacks her son.
- Screaming Woman
- Sudden Sequel Death Syndrome: Offscreen before the events of 4, and at the beginning of Resurrection.
- Took a Level in Badass: In H20.
Jamie Lloyd
Nine-year old orphan daughter of Laurie Strode, who is Michael's main target throughout Halloween 4 and 5.
Played by: Danielle Harris (4 and 5) and J.C. Brandy (The Curse)
- Cute Mute: For most of 5.
- Final Girl: Of Halloween 4 (shared status with her half-sister Rachel) and 5.
- Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: She dies in The Curse when Michael impales her on tractor harrows.
- Eerie Pale-Skinned Brunette
- Psychic Powers: She shares a psychic connection with her uncle.
- Sudden Sequel Death Syndrome
- The Voiceless: She is almost mute in the start of 5, due to the traumatic experiences in the last film. She regains her voice later.
The Man in Black (Dr. Terrence Wynn)
Mysterious man who is seen throughout the fifth film and in the end busts Michael out of jail. He is later revealed to be the leader of the cult of Thorn, which turned Michael to killer he is now in order to sacrifice his entire family[1]. His real identity is that of Dr. Terrence Wynn, ex-coworker of Dr. Loomis at Smith's Grove.

- The Dog Was the Mastermind: He was a minor character in the first film.
- Enigmatic Minion: In 5.
- Evil Sounds Deep: When providing "voices" to those chosen for the sacrificial task.

- Gender Flip: Was made a female nurse in the remake.
- Good Smoking, Evil Smoking: He is seen smoking in 5.
- Karma Houdini: Unlike the Producer's Cut of The Curse, where he dies, the theatrical cut of the film has him just disappearing near the end.
- Not necessary. While Michael slaughters a number of people in the OR, its assumed that Wynn is one of the victims during the chaos, as Michael wouldn't leave a victim behind.
