Gerry Conway
Prolific Comic Book Writer (especially in the 1970s and 1980s). Had a hand in the creation of several major characters such as The Punisher, Power Girl, Jason Todd, Firestorm, and many more.
But perhaps Conway's most famous work came in 1973, not long after he took over as writer of The Amazing Spider-Man. The Green Goblin had kidnapped Spider-Man's girlfriend, Gwen Stacy, in an attempt to lure the wallcrawler out. Gwen was knocked off the bridge and Spidey's attempt to save her may have doomed her. This story changed the game in super hero comics.
