Female comedy pop duo consisting of Riki "Garfunkel" Lindhome and Kate "Oates" Micucci. They are named after "Pop's most famous second bananas" (Art Garfunkel of Simon & Garfunkel and John Oates of Hall & Oates) and met at the Upright Theatre in Los Angeles.

They write their own songs which make free use of the vernacular, with titles such as "This Party Just took a turn for the Douche" and "Fuck you" (which featured on Scrubs bowdlerised as "Screw You"). They also comment on current events, such as "Sex with Ducks" (a reply to Pat Robertson's comment that if same-sex marriage were permitted, why not bestiality) and "Why isn't there more Fucking on this Island?" (a reference to Lost). They've even parodied one of their own songs with I would Never Dissect a Ewe (as Simon & Hall!), a take off of I Would Never Have Sex With You.

Garfunkel and Oates provides examples of the following tropes:

• Loophole Abuse: If God's 'doorbell' is the clitoris, then God's 'Loophole' is the anus.
• Moral Dissonance: they expose the hypocrisy of Evangelicals who preserve their 'vaginal virginity' by having anal sex instead:

• Refuge in Vulgarity" "The Loophole" ought to cover that one.
• Self Referential Humour: the set-up of their 2016 Special (see below) is that they cannot afford to do a 'special': if only they could do a fundraiser in order to raise enough money to put one together. This becomes a running gag throughout the 'special', as audience reaction is equated to earnings via a giant thermometer, which, upon reaching the end of the show, has miraculously raised them enough money to produce the special. The conceit is then subverted when the prop handler demands they pay an unspecified amount for the mercury in the thermometer, an amount which happens to equate to the amount they raised for the 'special.'
• Self Referencing Title: their 2016 'Special' was called "Trying to be Special."
