For Colored Girls is a 2010 film written, directed and produced by Tyler Perry, based on the theater piece For colored girls who have considered suicide when the rainbow is enuf by Ntozake Shange. The film stars an All-Star Cast of prominent African-American women, including Janet Jackson, Whoopi Goldberg, Phylicia Rashad, Thandie Newton, Loretta Devine, Anika Noni Rose, Kimberly Elise and Kerry Washington.
