Fridge Horror

  • Hyperspace Is a Scary Place: Fading Suns' interstellar travel is also an example. The Portal Network is the safe way, since the interstellar space is full of Lovecraftian monstrosities which just wait for you to leave the safe haven of a star system. This is where the Fridge Horror kicks in: the fun fact is, before the Solar System's Stargate was discovered, several sleeper ships were already on their way.
