Fraser helps a pedestrian who is hit by a car, only to find out from the man's daughter that this sort of thing happens to him often. Investigative reporter Mackenzie King is working a police corruption story and thinks Fraser might somehow be involved when he brings the oft-injured man to the hospital. Meanwhile, Diefenbaker refuses to listen to Fraser's instructions to stay in the apartment, sneaking out to explore Chicago, and attracting the attention of both one of the female neighborhood dogs and a dog catcher.
