Dragonheart (film)/YMMV
- Complete Monster: Einon, even going so far as to kill his own mother when she tries to fulfill Draco's request to kill him so that Einon can be beaten.
- His father wasn't much better.
- The sequel's Big Bad is a piece of work too. A dragon so evil that his peers punished him by turning him human in the hopes that he would develop empathy for humanity after living as a man. It just made him hate humans more. His entire goal is to become a dragon again and finally wipe out humanity.
- Hilarious in Hindsight: As given above, Jason Isaacs plays a character named "Felton" in the same film with a character named "Draco".
- Jerkass Woobie: The novel version of Felton. The guy's a complete jerk, but a ridiculous amount of bad stuff happens to him (from embarrassment to losing limbs... see Butt Monkey on the main page for a full list) that you just feel sorry for him and want to give him a hug.
- Special Effects Failure: While Draco is a well-animated/rendered CG Character, the lighting on him looks off in the scenes he's in, but it's not that big a problem.
- The sequel however, falls under this trope. Especially when you realize that the company hired on for it (Not ILM) was also responsible for the X-Ray scene in Total Recall, one of the more groundbreaking moments in Visual effects history.
- Tear Jerker: Very few people who have watched this movie have not burst into tears. Many cry simply at the thought of it. Not only does Draco - the world's very last surviving dragon - die, but he is killed by his best friend. At his own request. Only a few scenes earlier, he specifically mentions how he finally has everything he's ever needed.
- You know a scene is sad when The Nostalgia Chick finds it in her cold, black heart to admit to being misty-eyed at it.
- The music which plays during the scene, the most emotional version of the main theme, doesn't hurt either. And the fact you can see it coming once the true nature of the bond between Dracon and Einon is revealed doesn't lessen the impact--in fact it only heightens it.
- Bowen's EPIC this-is-what-I'm-fighting-for moment at Avalon. The sheer power of the scene is overwhelming.
- Visual Effects of Awesome: And it holds up fairly well even today.
