Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

  • Alternative Character Interpretation: Development Hell Some people believe she's a hard worker in dire need of some sympathy and she did have cancer and it changed her, on the other hand she has a growing hatedom because she appears to not do much creatively with her time, and swaps boyfriends and gets stuck in limbo a damn lot.
    • All Girls Want Bad Boys Also there are debates about her taste in men and whether she does the pick bad guys to get good songs thing or just unlucky in love.
    • Creator Backlash, does she just like to distance herself from her older work or does she really really become disillusioned when something goes wrong, as it does, every era and WHY does she do it so frequently.
    • The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything Lazy holiday taking part time artist and significant other's girlfriend or just taking her time with a boyfriend or two before going hard on her new album and tour which will be amazing!!
    • Contractual Purity / Incorruptible Pure Pureness Her pureness is debate is extreme. Some say she's secretly a bitch, man stealer and home wrecker, others insist that often she's nice and sweet but this leads her open to extreme judgement when she does do something wrong (Such as home wreck, spread lies and delay her albums for years), others say it's good we have such a role model in these days of Britney Spears and Lady Gaga.
    • others say the whole innocent and wholesome image has to go and embracing the brattier, more honest, sexier side of herself could gain her fans at this point in her career, as it has done The Veronicas, Gabriella Cilmi, Christina Aguilera, Ke$ha and Lady Gaga amongst others, naturally others want her to stick with the innocent and sweet image because she is really a sweetheart.
    • Fan Dumb She also comes under fire for her fan relationships, She is nice to Certain fans faces, but ignores them unless they show extreme willfull blindness on her twitter and to HER face, despite the fact she never gives her fans anything and that's under fire by the fans she doesn't appreciate which in turn have turned on her.
    • The wonderful Wounded Gazelle Gambit, does she want pity or does it just read that way a damn lot.
    • Artist Disillusionment, she tends to either fall into this or subvert this depending on the viewer. Either she loves working so much and her music has to be so perfect or she just doesn't care and releases albums when she needs the money!
    • Hate Dumb May be the only case of an artist being unaware of the way she comes off to fans and former fans, acting hateful to the ones who get sick of her labor-some limbo tactics and instead of sating them with new live tracks or chatting to them constantly or simply telling them where she is at creatively. She insists on spitting in their faces and ignoring their plea's and acting like their being bratty for wanting a singer/songwriter to release music occasionally and talk about their art!
    • The legitimacy of her Celebrity Endorsement gets the gauntlet of feelings, from hey she can do what she wants, I love her anyway to "She's selling out her SOUL..I want music not ADVERTS, where is the Delta that I loved in 2004".
    • Her persona on the voice is open to many a debate, over everything from, she's being her usual sweetheart self, just trying to help, earnt her place among those men to she's a repressed, contrived wannabe surrounded by coaches who are better and have more work ethic compared to her.
  • Contractual Purity: Averted and played straight, depends on how much you like her. People know she's not entirely innocent, but she hasn't lost her purity in the public eye entirely yet. Despite some evidence to prove she's not the angel she depicts herself to be.
  • Crowning Music of Awesome: Mistaken Identity is one amazing album.
    • Innocent Eyes is a pop classic and is in one in every three houses in Australia.
    • Innocent Eyes piano solo at her Believe Again tour is extremely impressive.
    • Uncovered, and most of her b-sides are pretty awesome. (Beautiful Madness, The Riddle, Take Me Home, Fever, On My Own, Silence Be Heard, How A Dream Looks, Turn You Away)
  • Ear Worm: Innocent Eyes, Take Me Home, You Will Only Break My Heart, Born To Try, Fever, Electric Storm, Miscommunication and A Little Too Late are all catchy.
  • Fan Dumb: Comes in two kinds at this point...
    • Willfully Blind: Some Delta fans seem to see her in an overly positive image/Flawless and can not take any justified criticism of their "Australian Princess". Less since she took her long break, but still there somehow. Her sheen has not gone...
    • Stawstuffer/Loyalist: On the other hand, some fans seem to loathe her entire way of life now and are probably wondering why they stick around when they are so unhappy.
      • Have resorted to annoying Willfully Blind fans with their outrageously literal anti repression opinions
  • Faux Symbolism: "Believe Again", the music video. Starting from the second verse...First she's in the rock, almost naked, like a mermaid, but not, then she's on the rock, in a ripped cat suit, now she's in a big dress, which is flowy in the center of a broken circle, with her eyes decidedly closed... and it continues.
  • Hate Dumb: One of her haters/strawstuff fans trolls The Other Wiki's page about her, with names of her fourth album for some reason....
  • Heartwarming Moments: Sanctuary. A song about true friendship

Just like the glorious northern star you guided me
Shining a light of pure tranquility
To a secret place where no-one else could go
Free to reveal the things I never show

    • Butterfly, "Turn You Away", "Angels In The Room" are this
  • Magnum Opus: "Mistaken Identity" among her fans, "Innocent Eyes" in the general public eyes.
  • Narm: "Believe Again"

I'd lost my faith in love, now I believe again
My heart was a broken place, now I feel whole again
You bring me honesty, and that's worth believing in
and I believe, I believe again

    • "Sitting On Top Of the World"
    • Narm Charm to people who like them!
  • Nightmare Fuel: God Laughs would fall into this for the calmness in the music contrasting to the rather painful circumstances the song is about.
  • Protection From Editors: The only reason, combined with self inflicted Development Hell she hasn't released a new album in the last four years.
  • Purity Sue: The number one reason for any of the backlash she has had ever!
  • Seasonal Rot: Generally accepted to had happened between Mistaken Identity and "Delta", music and songwriting wise.
  • Tear Jerker: Not Me Not I to name one!
    • Extraordinary Day, Butterfly, Lost Without You, This is Not Me, In My Own Time, Last Night On Earth
  • Tastes Like Diabetes: "Believe Again" could be accused of this.
  • Some Anvils Need to Be Dropped: Nobody Listened

Like a train, off the rails, to you

    • She is not a perfect person and does get angry and does not have complete control over her life the whole time...
  • Yoko Oh No: To Brian Mcfadden; of course, she was called a home wrecker.
    • Also got crap for her relationship with Mark Philippoussis.
    • And her romance with Nick Jonas, by Jonas Brothers fans in general and "Nick has true love with Miley Cyrus" fangirls.
    • Nick Jonas also caught flack from Delta fans for distracting her from her creative ouput.
  • What Could Have Been: The three or four albums/Ep's of work she has pushed aside for her fourth album for the last three years. Some of it must've been amazing and now it's gone due to circumstances which don't make much sense...
  • Vindicated by History: "Mistaken Identity" did get some quiet backlash, subtle criticism, negative feed back and was considered to be a "Cluttered" record when it was released, but after the Delta album came out in 2007. It became a universal fan favourite. It was then seen as an honest, thought provoking, beautiful, whimsical, passionate, aggressive, thoughtful, deep, heart felt album and was true to what a natural, true Delta Goodrem album is. It basically became more real to her fans as her fans grew up.
