Justice League: The New Frontier

  • There are several Crowning Moments in New Frontier. Many of them belong to Hal Jordan.
    • Near the end, with his saucer-shaped plane being overcome with red goop, the Guardians tell Hal Jordan how his power ring works. He then saves his friend by outrunning a nuclear blast.
  • Agent Faraday. One of The Center's mutant T-rex things grabs him with its tail, crushing his ribs and probably some internal organs as it drags him in. He manages to grab two grenades and get the pins out, and seconds after the T-rex eats him, its head explodes, making for an awesome Heroic Sacrifice.
    • Making this even better is that it's a Shout-Out to the unfortunately-but-inevitably cut Losers opening sequence from the comic.
  • And, of course, the famous Wonder Woman scene: "There's the door, spaceman."
    • Diana has one in the final battle as well. She's been hospitalized after the Centre destroyed Paradise Island. The forces on the beach are getting overwhelmed by dinosaurs and other beasts...then suddenly, a bandaged Wonder Woman grabs a girder and starts swinging at anything in sight, rallying the guys. "Fight on! Fight on to the LAST!" You know she's going to...
  • Let's not forget Flash's crowning moment, after Captain Cold's freeze gun begins to malfunction in the water fountain.

Captain Cold: Gah! What'd you do!?
Flash: I rewired it on the way down. * the gun explodes, freezing all the water in the fountain as well as Captain Cold*

    • What do you expect? NOBODY messes with his Iris!

Wonder Woman

  • Diana, having been frustrated by Steve Trevor's misguided, drunken attempt to kiss her, is accosted by a gang of thugs. She refuses to give them anything and instead asks for an apology "for contributing to my current disillusionment with Man". Naturally, the leader of the thugs scoffs and tries to shoot her. After blocking said bullets, she proceeds to utterly annihilate the thugs. And she gets that apology.
  • Steve Trevor gets one towards the end of the movie, when Ares' army is smashing everything in sight - like the Lincoln Memorial, which they tear the head off of. Steve pulls out his gun and storms towards them.

Steve: They're messing with Lincoln. Nobody messes with Lincoln!

Green Lantern: First Flight

  • Hal Jordan vs. Sinestro. One of them wields a yellow ring that allows him to utterly devastate the Green Lantern Corps singlehandedly, and the other just absorbed all the energy at the very core of the central power battery. Cue a battle so intense that the combatants are literally smashing MOONS into each other.
  • Kilowog definitely gets this not only for being the only Green Lantern willingly face death rather than bow to Sinestro, even after the Guardians had surrendered, but his small but powerful quip after Sinestro crash lands next to him? Pure Awesome.

Superman: Doomsday

  • Superman's last attack against Doomsday one-ups the final blow in the comic book version of the story. Beaten and spitting blood, Superman musters up enough strength to grab Doomsday, fly him clear up into the stratosphere before taking him into a death plunge wailing on him the whole way down. Doomsday dies, Superman actually lives long enough to get back on his feet, climb out of the crater and ask if everyone is okay before dying.

Superman/Batman: Public Enemies

  • This seems to have been an attempt to stuff as much awesome into an hour-long plot as is humanly possible, and it does this quite well. Any scene where Batman and Superman battle anyone counts, period.
    • There's the mere fact that they used the real Power Girl, not an Expy. Bonus points for having her around Toyman, a thirteen-year-old boy, and the inevitable Most Common Superpower jokes that come with it. It loses points, since she is a Faux Action Girl and The Chick instead of her usual aggressive Big Guy form, but it is still something.
      • At least she killed Major Force. You can't claim that wasn't awesome.
    • There's Batman's grand finale, where he flies a giant robot made up to look like Composite Superman to destroy a Kryptonite meteor.
    • We can't forget little Billy Batson, blasted out of the sky as Captain Marvel by a wrist-fired rocket from Batman. Batman tends to the injured kid and says, "Say something." Billy's response? "Shazam!"

Justice League: Crisis On Two Earths

  • The Joker's heroic counterpart the Jester is as much a walking CMOA as the original. In the opening sequence, he's one of the last two surviving heroes. He and Lex break into the villains secret lair and he heroically sacrifices himself to take down both Hawkgirl and the Martian Manhunter.

Hawgirl: [Twist her flaming sword into the Jester's vital organs and gestures to return what he stole.]
Jester: Alright! Alright! [reaches into his bag] I'm down to my last trick anyway. [grins and pulls out a cherry bomb with a nuclear symbol on it] But this one'll kill ya.

  • Batman's final showdown with Owlman.

Batman: There is a difference between you and me. We both looked into the abyss. But when it looked back at us...you blinked.

    • The fact that Batman fights his way through half the movie with a broken rib.
    • Owlman considering having a Villainous Breakdown... and deciding he's too awesome.

"It doesn't matter."

    • When Aquaman takes on Captain Super:

Batman: Careful Aquaman! They're stronger than you are.
Aquaman: That remains to be seen.

  • Aquaman then proceeds to completely own Captain Super.*

Batman: Under The Red Hood

  • Batman and Nightwing teaming up to kick Amazo's ass.
  • Joker killing one of Black Mask's goons with a broken glass and using that goon's gun to kill the others in seconds while still being incarcerated.

Joker: I'll need some guys. Not these guys, because, well, they're kinda dead.

  • Bruce laying the smack down on Jason. Then later dodging a bullet with his back turned and precisely throwing a miniature batarang into the barrel of Jason's gun before he lets out the next bullet therefore making the gun explode. Even the Joker was in amazement over it.
  • Batman leaping through a car being thrown at him by the bigger Fearsome Hand member, landing on the guy, and dropping a miniature device that sends him flying a few blocks away.

DC Showcase Original Shorts Collection

  • Superman/Shazam: The Return of Black Adam showed us that even Captain Marvel, a bigger boyscout and nice guy than Superman, can be pushed too far. Trying to kill him is one thing. Even if you offer him a sadistic choice between his life and the life of a hostage, he will sacrifice himself so the other person can live without reservation. Try to kill the hostage ANYWAY, even after he's surrendered and he gets dangerous. What happened to Black Adam after that particular act of treachery was the very definition of a Curb Stomp Battle.
