  • Broken Base: There is a small but very dedicated and fanatical group of the Command & Conquer fandom who insist that the only real games were made before Westwood was bought out by EA Games. You are not allowed to like any game released after Red Alert 2 and are expected to declare war on EA.
  • Crowning Music of Awesome: Virtually all the Command & Conquer games have at least one track which will make you praise Frank Klepacki and the other composers, be it the classic "Act on Instinct," any incarnation of "Hell March," the GLA themes, or the Shogun Executioner theme (ok, it's Ominous Japanese Chanting, but still...) , or the soundtracks used in the trailers of Nod and the Scrin... well, let's just say that C&C has its own page for several very good resons.
  • Ear Worm: Countless, including "C&C Thang" from the original and "Hell March" from the Red Alert series.
  • Fan Dumb: And how! We saw people who seemed dedicated exclusively to create chaos, destruction and disorder in the official forums by spamming threads, posting disturbing scat images, posting on the game section about other games and trying to ruin the computers of the other visitors with modem-killer images, there was also the case of fundamentalists using the official forums to make highly religious flammable debates, it's a shame so many of them used the name of Westwood and Tiberian Sun to justify their actions.
    • The worst cases where of cheaters who used hacks to steal accounts or capable to control the other player's units so they had instant victories by simply selling the opponent's MCV, they tried to justify their actions by saying they were doing so to force EA to make a patch for Command and Conquer Generals, the worst of all is that some fans actually considered that the right thing to do, making an absurd apology of on-line terrorism.
    • Fortunately for the current community EALA, the division of EA in charge of C&C, now have stablished a strong overwatch over the forums having moderators protecting the average user, without being really restrictive as long as your opinion is expresed in a civilized way, in fact EALA is one of the few studios known to allow threads were people strongly critize their actions in a passionate way and use dialogue instead of bans. EALA also had a forums with new contention scrypts to avoid disturbing images and broking codes, they also actively seek and ban people who disconnect and cheat on the online games.
  • Fan Nickname: As a long-spanning series of RTS games, it's inevitable that the various units would end up with nicknames; for example, the long-standing Mammoth Tank is often called a "Mammy" and most obvious honestly-not-Mammoth Tanks like the Apocalypse Tank or the Overlord are often called Mammoths because they're nothing more than Mammoths with the serial numbers filed off. The most memorable Fan Nickname, however, must go to the Tiberian Sun "Dragon's Tongue Flame Tank", which jokingly goes by the name of "BURROWING SHOEBOX OF HORRIBLE BURNING DEATH" (allcaps optional but preferred) because it is a subterranean vehicle that looks a bit like a shoe box and uses flamethrowers to burn things to death.
  • Fanon Discontinuity: Fans still debate on a number of issues, notably which ending of the first Red Alert leads to Tiberian Dawn. Word of God is the Allied ending.
  • Game Breaker: There are many for each series.
    • Mammoth Tanks, Commando & Transport Chopper, Tiberian Sun's Artillery and Subterranean APCs, Rocket Launchers.
      • Tiberian Sun's Artillery is especially bad, mostly because of how accurate they are against moving targets. Even the strongest armored units in the game, including the Mammoth Mk.2, will be torn to pieces by just a few artillery. They effectively obsolete the Obelisk of Light in terms of ground defense, since in addition to greater range and lower price, they require no power and will pulverize groups of infantry, unlike the Obelisk. However, they were nerfed in Firestorm.
    • Yuri Prime, Apocolypse Tanks (Red Alert 2 only), Kirov Airships, Shogun Battleships, Mirage Tanks, Athena Cannons, Etc.
    • Yuri from Yuri's Revenge. Namely, Flying Discs with lasers and tractor beams, tanks and static defences that can mind control enemy units, and missile submarines.
      • Don't forget that you can shut down an enemy's entire base with just four Flying Discs. Park one over a Power Plant, another over their Refinery, and one near any building that can produce anti-air infantry/vehicles. Not to mention Yuri Prime, who can mind-control buildings (and with the Cloning Vat, you can get two Yuri Primes!)
    • Uprising introduces us to the Harbinger gunship, a nigh on invincible self healing flying fortress. If you can build up a few then they make the attack move option a 'I win' button.
        • The Empire's Giga-Fortress. Just one of them can take away a quarter of a Harbinger's health in Sea-Fortress mode. And don't get me started on Sky-Fortress mode!
        • The Sky-Fortress modes is the main use for them. They outrange anti-air units, and do insane damage.
        • On the more Boring but Practical side, there's the Soviet Mortar Cycles, which only cost 600 credits and only require a Barracks and War Factory. However, they are armed with Molotov Cocktails and Mortar Cannons, and they move quickly. Bases do not stand up for long against them.
        • As mentioned above, this is most likely the reason why Uprising does not support non-CPU multiplayer.
      • The Apocalypse Tank in Uprising gets some major upgrades. Its magnetic harpoon weapon now keeps enemy units from shooting back, so if you micromanage them right you can easily defeat a force tier-3 armor of the same size without taking any damage, and they can used to pull ships on land to instantly destroy them. However, it's not considered a gamebreaker merely because of Harbingers Gunships and Giga Fortresses.
    • The MARV from Kane's Wrath is a giant tank that can garrison four infantry, fires sonic grenades from a three-barreled cannon, can instantly harvest tiberium, and with the right combination of infantry is nigh unstoppable.
      • It can also self-heal (with the right infantry on board) and survive a direct hit from a nuke.
  • Moral Event Horizon:
    • The ending of the 1st GLA campaign and in the first USA mission certainly place the GLA as a Complete Monster faction.
    • The Soviets do it even BETTER. They cross the MEH roughly THREE SECONDS into the first cutscene of the first game. Or more accurately, even BEFORE the game begins which you learn of within the first three seconds of their first cutscene, where Stalin and his subordinates are discussing the effects of Sarin gas upon a few unfortunate civilian "test subjects." Right before ordering you to raze a Polish village to the ground and kill everyone that inhabits it. They get worse as the game goes on. Given that this is Stalin, this is Truth in Television.
