Boys Empire

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

Hitomi: NO INCEST THIS EARLY IN THE MORNING!

A nine-issue Shotacon Hentai manga by Juan Gotoh.

The main character of the series is Makoto Tamura, a 12-year-old boy who, much to his continuing confusion, has a very... active life. (Read: he is irresistable to every female he knows.) Despite this, he is most attached to Hitomi Mizumura, a girl his age who is "unimpressed" with him, and claims she only sleeps with him out of pity.

Other major characters include:

  • Mina Tamura, 17, Makoto's big sister. Guess what happens.
  • Umeko Tamura (nee Sakagami), 32, Makoto and Mina's mother. Really Got Around, though she seems to restrain herself to her husband (and later You-Know-Who) nowadays... usually.
  • Ikki Yamaguchi, 12, the only other major male character in the series. Makoto's friend who's a lot more impressed with Makoto's luck with the ladies than Makoto himself.
  • Aki Higurashi, Makoto's neighbor, an aspiring artist and his first partner.

Despite being hentai, and a very questionable subgenre at that, the series is exceptionally heartwarming and occasionally quite funny. Forget ever seeing it in stores, but it's on the Internet if you look.

Recently Gotoh has begun a sequel, Childhood's End, focusing on Kyouichi and Ichigo Tamura (Umeko's twins from the end of Boys Empire).

Boys' Empire provides examples of:
  • Absurdly Youthful Mother: Umeko became pregnant with Mina, her eldest child, at the ripe age of 15 (and it was her husbands 10th birthday; Absurdly Youtful Father, anyone?). And they only had to do it once. Also he was still in high school when they had Makoto.
    • Also Hitomi who was only 10-11 when she had Makoto Jr. Mina is debatable as she was 17-18 when she had Sakura.
  • Anything That Moves: Umeko came by this reputation honestly. See Red Baron below for more details.
  • Babies Ever After: The last few pages of the last issue show Hitomi, Umeko and Mina's babies
    • Out of all of the babies, Ichigo (Umeko's daughter) is the only one that doesn't have Absurdly Youthful Parents because her brother, Kyouichi, is Makoto's son.
  • Beach Episode: Issue Six.
  • Blank White Eyes: Hitomi upon seeing her mother being raped by Umeko.
  • Blatant Lies: Umeko. Obviously a lie: Makoto couldn't have been her first partner because he was HER SON.
  • Blessed with Suck: Most guys would love to be a Chick Magnet, but they don't want to be so irresistible to women that their own close relatives can't stop having sex with them.
  • But I Can't Be Pregnant: Hitomi at the end of the 8th issue. Issue 9 explains that while she hasn't had her periods yet, she got pregnant on the first ovulation. Mind you, that's not actually impossible, just somewhat unlikely: the first few ovas of girls are not 100% mature (think of them as a "test run" by the body) which decreases the chance of a successful conception with no abnormalities or an early miscarriage. And Now You Know.
  • Chick Magnet: So much that closet Shotacon Yoshino-sensei has a hard time with her urges.
  • Cool Big Sis: Mina
  • Cry Cute: Once in the second part of Issue 6, when Makoto and Hitomi discover that the beach isn't as abandoned as they thought... just a couple of seconds from kissing each other. And once more in Issue 7, when Hitomi was angsting over having to move away with parents to another city (Don't worry, she eventually doesn't have to.). Hitomi's streaming tears firmly establish that she has a really tender heart, which she hides behind all of her Tsundereness.
  • Distant Finale: The back cover of the last issue shows Makoto and Hitomi at their wedding, at least four years after the series, with their son Makoto standing between them.
  • Double Standard Rape (Female on Male): What starts the entire plot.
  • Dumbass Has a Point: Ikki's speech in Issue Nine about whether or not Makoto and Hitomi should have their kid. Subverted when it's clear he can't apply his own advice.
  • Ethical Slut / Good Bad Girl: Umeko and Mina. Of note is that each one has only two long-term sexual relationships under her belt (bonus points for Umeko, who is married to one of hers; whether the other being her son also gives bonus points is debatable).
  • Even Sluts Have Standards: Umeko may have sex with Anything That Moves but when she's accused of attempting to corrupt Hitomi, she responds as such:

Umeko: I wouldn't lay a hand on my son's girlfriend

Yoshino Sensei: Um, since when have you two been doing... well um...
Hitomi: Having Sex?
Yoshino Sensei Freaks Out

Hitomi: Makoto... YOU GOT AN ERECTION THINKING ABOUT IT! (firmly grips the "incriminating evidence")
Makoto: Ah!
Hitomi: You're hopeless. (pulls down Makoto's pants)
Makoto: Ah, Hitomi-chan?
Hitomi: There's no way I can walk around with my boyfriend in such an embarrassing state.
(cue obligatory sex scene)

  • Unto Us a Son and Daughter Are Born: Kyouichi and Ichigo at the end.
    • On top of that, they are technically nephew and aunt because the girl's father is the mother's husband and the boy's father is the mother's other son. This is because they are fraternal twins and Umeko had sex with both her husband and son in the same night. Not that that's technically impossible, just extremely unlikely: some species DO have this kind of fraternity in real life but no one ever tried it with humans (first, it requires lots of luck and second, women with spontaneous multiple ovulations are the minority).
  • You Gotta Have Green Hair: The Teacher.
  1. Specifically in issues 6 and 7.
  2. Aki doesn't figure into it, because it was just a one-time thing. Even their second time just sort of happened.
