Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy/YMMV

Everything About Fiction You Never Wanted to Know.

Did you throw a trident?

  • Ensemble Darkhorse: Brick, through and through.
  • Foe Yay: Ron and Wes Mantooth.
  • Fountain of Memes: Brick. See below.
  • Funny Aneurysm Moment: Who knew having exquisite breasts made Christina Applegate undergo a double mastectomy as treatment for breast cancer?
  • Ho Yay: When Champ talks about how the News Team needs Ron, he starts going on about how he misses everything about Ron, including "his musk", and suggests that when this is all over, they move into an apartment together. Everyone else is quite uncomfortable.
  • Karma Houdini: No one mentioned the Public News Anchor never got punished for pushing off Veronica?
    • Not to mention Veronica herself, who never gets any comeuppance for screwing with Ron's teleprompter. The boss knew it was her, yet he still fired Ron for it.
      • Didn't she get pushed into a bear pit and almost mauled to death before Ron saved her?
    • And then there's the biker who punts Baxter off of a bridge. Not only is he not shown answering to the law for his very illegal act, but the film actually downplays the wrongness of his crime.
  • Memetic Mutation: Everything Brick says
    • "I DON'T KNOW WHAT WE'RE YELLING ABOUT! LOUD NOISES!"
    • "I heard their periods attract bears. The bears can smell the menstruation."
    • "I love lamp."
    • YOU ARE A SMELLY PIRATE HOOKER. WHY DON'T YOU GO BACK TO YOUR HOME, ON WHORE ISLAND?!
    • The website True LAD (think stereotypical "lads" story in the style of FML or IMMD) will often see stories referencing lines and quotes from Anchorman, such as how someone saying a line from Anchorman broke up a fight, or how 60% of the time their cologne works all the time, usually ending with something like "Anchor LAD" or "Ron Burgandy LAD"
    • Burgandy: "I'M IN A GLASS CASE OF EMOTION!"
    • "You stay classy, [insert person/place]."
    • Actually pretty much everything. It is this troper's opinion that, whether or not it's as consistently hilarious as classics like Airplane!, it deserves a place among them for being one of those comedies where pretty much every line of dialogue has become immensely quotable. Uh oh! You pointed to your boobies!
  • Retroactive Recognition: Seth Rogen as "Heavier Cameraman."
