Japanese production studio founded in 1987. They're responsible for End of Evangelion, Ghost in the Shell, Eden of the East, the animated flashback in Kill Bill, the FMV sequences in the Wii Wario Land game, one of the seven shorts of Halo Legends and other well-known anime, and are also well-regarded for their use of digital compositing techniques. The studio has also worked with other media, such as the Yarudora series (interactive anime-style Visual Novel games) on PS1, and the PSP versions of the first two Star Ocean games. Recently they also did the new opening animation for Blaz Blue Continuum Shift Extend.
The "I.G" part of the company name refers to its founders, Mitsuhisa Ishikawa and Takayuki Goto. They frequently collaborate with Mamoru Oshii.
Production I.G has two subsidiary companies Xebec and Mag Garden. From 1997-2006 studio Bee Train was also a subsidiary.
