Hail, hail, the gang's all here...

Pretty Cure All Stars is a series of crossover movies that teams up all of the Pretty Cure teams. Each film features Cures from all continuities joining forces to combat a new powerful foe, with focus given to the teams from the currently-airing season and the recently-ended one.

The first film has Love, Miki, and Inori planning to attend a dance contest and having to join forces with their seniors in Pretty Cure to defeat Fusion, an opponent made of remnants of each series' Monsters of the Week. In the sequel, Tsubomi and Erika travel to an amusement park, meet up with and befriend the Fresh girls, and are aided by the other Cures in a battle to protect the legendary Rainbow Jewel from a villain who resurrects the previous seasons' villains. The third film focuses on Hibiki and Kanade fighting alongside the others to protect the Prism Flower while facing off against the villains from previous series films.

The movies are shameless cash-ins for the titular Cash Cow Franchise, but the chance to see all the Cures teaming up for an epic battle and interacting with one another is entertaining in its own right, and the series has proved successful.

A fourth title, Precure All Stars New Stage premiered on March 17, 2012 and stars all current teams, including the Smile Pretty Cure girls as well as a movie-exclusive character named Ayumi Sakagami whose Cure identity is Cure Echo.

The movies contain examples of:

• Animation Bump: Particularly concerning Cure Dream in the first movie.
• Ascended Fangirl: Character notes on New Stage's Ayumi Sakagami hint that she's a fan of the Precures who will end up becoming a brand new Cure named Cure Echo for the movie.
• Back From the Dead: Apparently, every villain who didn't pull a Heel Face Turn in the second movie.
• Bat Family Crossover
• Big Damn Heroines: This happened about three times in the first movie. First, Cure Black and Cure White saved Milky Rose, Cure Mint, and Cure Aqua from an freakin' huge Zakenna aeroplane. Then Cure Bloom and Cure Egret saved Cure Dream, Cure Lemonade, and Cure Rouge from an falling Uzainaa. Then Cure Peach, Cure Berry, and Cure Pine, are saved by everyone else from the innards of the Big Bad! The second movie has even more of them!
• The Cameo: Several in both movies.
• Canon Welding: 14 magical girls from 4 different continuities save the day in the first movie. Awesome. And the sequels just keep adding more.
• Character Focus: The members of the current series' team are positioned as the main characters, while the members of the previous series' team get the second-most focus. This does mean that the older teams aren't really allowed to do as much.
• Color Coded for Your Convenience: In the third movie, the Cures are sent to different dimensions in three mostly-color-coordinated groups (pink-tinted leaders, cool-color-tinted girls, and bright-color-tinted girls).
• Conspicuous CG: In the second movie.
• Counterpart Comparison: In-Universe. Nagisa and Honoka visit the shop run by the family of Saki, and the family notes Saki's similarity to Nagisa. Odd in that the original is compared to the Expy, not the other way around.
• Dancing Theme: From DX 2 onwards. DX 3 is unique in that it's the opening instead of the ending.
• Demoted to Extra: Michiru and Kaoru only get brief cameos in the movies, despite fighting alongside Bloom and Egret in their own Cure forms at the end of Splash Star. However, they do get a slightly bigger role and speaking parts in the second, where they are shown helping Saki's little sister.
  • A retroactive variation occurs in the second movie with Itsuki, Yuri and Kaoruko. Thanks to the movie's early in the season premiere date, all three are reduced to minor cameo roles despite one having been a Cure before Blossom and Marine had gotten their powers, one being the series' third ranger, and one being a retired Cure who is more than capable of getting back in the saddle if the need arises.
  • It's also been revealed that characters from the seasons before Fresh will not get speaking roles in New Stage, much to the disappointment of a good portion of the fanbase.
• Hair Decorations: At the end of second movie some of the girls get some.
• Expository Hairstyle Change: Tsubomi, Erika and Itsuki all get this at one point in the third movie.
• Fleeting Demographic: (young girls)
• Funny Background Event: Inverted in the second movie. While the Fresh and Heartcatch Cures race in mascot-themed cars in the background, the foreground shows this.
• Loads and Loads of Characters: There were so many Cures and Mascots in the first movie that some only got five lines or the Mascots just uttered their Verbal Tic.
  • It's gotten so bad that, in New Stage, everyone that showed up before Fresh has been Demoted to Extra!
• The Magic Goes Away: The ending to DX3
  • The Magic Comes Back: The scene AFTER the credits of DX3. Hey, Suite Pretty Cure had just started!
• Mid-Season Upgrade: Everyone gets their respective final or movie upgrades at the end of the second movie.
• New Powers as the Plot Demands: The Cure Rainbow team in the second movie.
• Original Generation: Ayumi Sakagami in All Stars New Stage.
• Retcon: New Stage retcons DX 1 by inserting Cure Passion (who had not Heel Face Turned with the movie was released), and the Heartcatch and Suite teams in the fight against Fusion.
• Souvenir Land: The Pretty Cure theme park, again, in the second movie.
• Theme Tune Cameo: In the climax of each movie, the Pretty Cure have a big battle, and the teams come in one by one, and as they appear, the theme song of the series they appeared in plays.
• Too Soon: A tsunami scene was cut from DX3 due to the 9.0 magnitude Sendai earthquake and tsunami. It was reportedly later restored on the DVD release, however.
• Zettai Ryouiki: Erika's outfit during the fashion show in the third movie.
