Born in Israel on June 9, 1981, and best known for her debut film role of Mathilda in Léon: The Professional (although a smaller audience knows her better as as Padmé Amidala in the Star Wars prequels), Natalie Portman has since moved on to other notable roles and even two Academy Award nominations—one of which she won (Best Actress for her role in Black Swan).
