Little Boy Seeks Big Girl

For every main girl character, there will usually be a boy in her Three Amigos friendship, or a little brother who doesn't give a dang about her. Conversely, there is often a young boy who has a big crush on either the friend's BFF, the female 'character of the day', or a recurring female character. This is a case of Little Boy Seeks Big Girl, which is usually Played for Laughs; for the girl's part, she is often at least unaware of his advances. Bonus points if the older gal in question is their babysitter.

You can definitely see in his face that he's right where he wants to be.

The average case is mostly "Precocious Crush meets someone who like older women", with the girl being no older than 25. Sometimes, it might go as far as Stalker with a Crush; other times the girl may even return his feelings, which can lead to less-than-kind implications on the show's part, depending on her age and the gap between their ages. In some instances, reality may ensue, with the situation being treated as creepy in-universe or else played for drama.

Though this happens often in preteen-aimed shows with female main characters, it may also occur in other setups: for example, the male best friend is younger like her, the boy is a child and the main title character, or the lead is a teen girl and the boy seeking said big girl is her little brother.

Has nothing to do with Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy or Tiny Guy, Huge Girl (which inspired the trope's original title).

This leads him to develop a disturbing crush on his best friend Ben's older sister, Jessie. Mikey goes as far as framing her boyfriend, David, for killing her cat, causing them to break up temporarily. Once they later get back together, Mikey tricks Jessie into leaving David by himself. He then kills David while the latter's in the bathtub by shoving in a nearby stereo. While attempting to "comfort" the grieving Jessie, Mikey tells her "Now you can just love me", which is the first hint to Jessie that something is horribly wrong.
