Edward Asner (November 15, 1929 - August 29, 2021), or as he's popularly known, Ed Asner, was an Emmy award winner whose acting career ran from 1957 until his death. He's perhaps best known for his character Lou Grant who debuted in The Mary Tyler Moore Show. After the shows run, Asner's character would be given his own show, Lou Grant.

Asner started his voice acting career in 1981, but his roles in voice acting really took off in 1992 when he voiced Hoggish Greedly in Captain Planet and the Planeteers. He would go on from that to role to voice many beloved, if somewhat gruff characters, as well as a plethora of one-shot characters for television, movies, and video games, his most famous voice-acting role probably being Carl Frederickson from Up.
