Shasta McNasty featured three men, Scott, Dennis and Randy, in a rap/rock band. They spent their time creating mischief and checking out attractive women on Venice Beach, anything but writing their song lyrics. They hated their landlord and always avoided paying rent on their Venice Beach loft apartment.

It routinely took Refuge in Vulgarity.

The second season was called "Shasta". The show's fandom (most notably, Malcolm in The Middle star Frankie Muniz) viewed this name change and the changes that accompanied it as Jumping the Shark. Those outside its fandom are likely surprised that the show had a second season.

This series is also worth noting because it helped sink the Animated Series version of Dilbert, which was scheduled after it but had very little in common with it. Also because it cemented UPN's reputation of greenlighting pretty much anything that comes across their desks.
